ITERATIVE DESIGN is something I strongly believe in. So most of the projects I've created at Backfield have developed from small scale vertical slices that are quickly iterated before scaling up for a bigger team to take to the finish line. Each iteration a slice produces becomes a chance to improve, as multiple solutions to major problems can be pursued simultaneously for answers that are optimal, not just functional.
Over the years working for Blackfield, I have developed a wide range of software from quick demos of shipping apps and mobile games, to proprietary VR training and simulation applications. Because of the flexibility Unity and other modern tools provide, I can create almost any project quickly at a small scale before committing the company resources needed to develop it further. This not only keeps our iterative process moving quickly, it starts each project off with a “fast to fail” build that can provide each team a clear path on where to go next once production begins.
